Ingrid Proos is a costume and set designer with over ten years of experience in the field. A native Estonian, she began her career in the USA where she received a BFA in Production/Design and MA in Theatre Studies. Ingrid lived and worked in America until 2008, during which time she designed, supervised and constructed costumes for over 150 productions and designed several sets.
During the 2001-2008 summer seasons, Ingrid served as a Designer and Costume Shop Manager for Premiere Stages—a theatre dedicated to new play development.
For three years, 2009-2011, Ingrid worked as the Wardrobe Supervisor and Costume Design Lecturer at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.
Awards include: The Kennedy Center ACTF National Barbizon Award for Excellence in Costume Design in 2008, The Kennedy Center ACTF Meritorious Achievement Award for Scenic Design in 2003, and the Joseph F. Bella Production/Design Graduation Award, also in 2003.
Ingrid currently lives in Lugano, Switzerland and continues her career as a freelance designer creating spaces and wardrobes for theaters and private clients.
